Today I received my 5th or 6th order from Doug over 4 or 5 years, and every time the plants came exactly when promised, and they always look great! One year I ordered some of his seedlings and the blooms were so awesome that those plants got more attention in my garden during tours than some of the high dollar named varieties. His prices are more than fair, plus the quality and service are excellent. He sends clean healthy plants, carefully packaged. His website changes from month to month as he posts sales and updates the availability. Normally I do not like to order Florida grown plants for my Kansas garden, but EVERY ONE of his plants has survived in my climate. One word of caution--if you get on his email list and he sends you a sales list, order QUICKLY because they go fast! The great thing is, he keeps his lists updated, so you don't have to deal with subs. I give him an A+ for consistency, quality, honesty, value.
Your daylilies arrived fresh and clean, and were much larger than expected. Can't wait to see the surprise seedlings in bloom. This is the second year I have ordered, and no matter what time of year I have ordered, the plants thrived. I was concerned about ordering an evergreen daylily from Florida because of
our cold winters up here in Zone 5, but I liked Hot Ember so much that I
placed the order anyway. And then placed another order before the first
order was shipped, because I decided to do a larger planting. I don't
remember how I found your site, but it was so easy to browse around and
check out the plants. Your site clearly presented the necessary information
for each plant, and ordering was very easy.
More importantly, I appreciate the personalized service. Thank you so much
for your help and flexibility in shipping my first order this year. We had
an exceptionally cold April, and you watched our weather to determine a good
ship date. Until then, I hadn't noticed that we had freezing nights most of
that month.
All daylilies arrived in very good shape, and I was surprised at the size and
condition. I've done volunteer work for the Chicagoland Daylily Society for
the past three years, tagging and preparing bareroot plants for their annual
sale, so I can really appreciate the fine condition of your plants. All of
them are doing well, and I look forward to ordering again.
